Shockwave Medical and Argon Medical Devices Launch Innovative Products to Enhance Patient Outcomes
Shockwave Medical, Inc. recently announced the full U.S. commercial availability of their Shockwave L6 Peripheral IVL Catheter following clearance by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).[0] The catheter is designed to modify calcified plaque in large peripheral vessels, such as the iliac and common femoral arteries, and is intended to improve patient outcomes and decrease the risk of complications with standard endovascular techniques.
The Shockwave L6 catheter enhances the company’s peripheral IVL portfolio, providing physicians with a choice of catheters optimized for the challenges of infrapopliteal, femoropopliteal and iliac arterial territories.[0] Its compact emitter configuration and four new device sizes (8.0, 9.0, 10.0 and 12.0 millimeter diameters) enable effective delivery of sonic pressure waves in larger vessels.[0]
In addition, Argon Medical Devices also announced the launch of their Traveler portal vein access series as the newest addition to their portfolio.[1] The series is designed to meet the needs of physicians accessing the portal vein through the liver during Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt (TIPS) procedures.[1] It includes three versions, Traveler16, Traveler21, and Traveler38, which are now available in the United States and Canada.[1]
Both Shockwave Medical and Argon Medical Devices are committed to improving patient outcomes and increasing access to their products through strategic partnerships and collaborations. Their commitment to cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions will continue to benefit the medical device industry in the future.
